December 31, 2011, what a great day

the last sunrise of 2011
My day started at 0430, I was on the flightline when the sun came up right next to Diamond Head. It was a clear and beautiful start of the last day of the year. If the day started out like this the ending of the day is going to be a beauty. The Indian Ringneck Parakeets were amazing also, what an awesome display of parakeets, finches and doves. There were at least a thousand birds feeding at the residence of some new friends. They have been feeding the birds twice a day for many years, what a sight to see......aloha to 2011

So what better pictures to take than the store front at Lowe's and the Christmas section. I thought that there were some very nice ornaments and artificial trees, the real ones had not arrived as of yet. Tis the season to be jolly.......aloha

Air China 747-400

Russian IL-62
What a week....the Pacific country leaders were here for an annual conference and I got to see their ways of travel. There were some really nice aircraft and there was some really shabby looking ones. My love of airplanes goes way back and These made my day, of course, the big daddy of them all is Air Force One...the Chinese 747-400 was very impressive as was the Koreans and the Japanese. I can't forget to include Brunei as one of the top dogs. The others 777s, 767s, A330s, and the like were clean as a whistle. The Russians brought along some older model aircraft that didn't measure up to what all the other countries arrived in, for some reason their aircraft looked "dull" and "dinged" up comparatively. All the crews were pleasant and seemed glad to be here from where ever they came from, the Russians were rude and at times tried to be pushy, but you know that attitude doesn't get yo to far. Oh well, I busted my butt like the rest of us and I am enjoying my days off. I guess we have to prepare for the return of Barack, so until then,,,,,,,,,aloha
