the girls put on war paint, Kapolei Homecoming

The girls of the class of 2012 decided to put on paint to show school spirit at tonight's homecoming game against Campbell . They put on the eye black under the eyes and painted the year in numbers on the bare tummys. They were so excited and they were getting a sequence together for there show in the bleachers. The boys could not be persuaded to remove their shirts and paint their tummys, I tried to get them to do it. I almost offered a dare but did not. They were definitely prepared by the time they were done. I can't imagine them actually at the game. They are truly experiencing their last year of high school. That time for us seems like it was in another life. They continue to be proud of the fact that they are seniors, the next step is a big one. I guess that this is there last days to have this kind of fun, so let's do it. They really do grow up faster than you think, I look forward to the days to come.......go Kapolei......aloha

just another day at Ko Olina.........

westside sunset
out for sunset cruise
Instead of doing my normal walking today, I decided to just enjoy the sunset and take a couple of photos. The setting sun, the ocean breeze, along with the sounds of polynesian music was the ambiance maker of the end of the day. It was another day that had me in awe of what a beautiful place to call home. I can never get tired of watching how the day ends. At lagoon 2, the Marriott condos were full of activity, the people were grilling their dinner for the night, there were folks getting in their last swim for the day, and lots of people were standing on the shore line watching the sun setting in the Pacific ocean. What a way to end my day. I didn't walk my entire route but oh well, there's always tomorrow. Hope your day was a delightful one, A HUI HOU, (until next time)........aloha.

Tantalus/Round TopD

Diamond Head from the road

looking at town
It's been a long time since I was at the top of Tantalus, it is a really nice lookout spot. It's just that you only think of this place when you are passing it on the freeway. Today, as you can see in the pictures, the day is absolutely gorgeous, no clouds over the city and the fragrant smell of blossoms in the air and plenty of sunshine. The visability

Moon rise/Sunset at Lana'i Lookout

south shore coast line

south shore coast line
This evening was a beautiful time to be out at Lana'i Lookout, the water was splashing, there was a slight breeze, the clouds were waiting for the sunset so they could put on some great colors, it doesn't get any better than this. The club members gathered to take pictures of the nights moonrise and perhaps get some sunset shots, I thought that the sunset was not in the best position for this, but it produced some nice color in the sky. The moon was blocked by some low clouds but still made for a good evening of shooting and all around good socializing with the club members and even some folks that weren't club members (yet).
I enjoyed another night of photography and being amongst friends, then had to make the drive back to the West side and home. It was a great evening for me and my camera..........aloha

Tantalus/Round Top

What a magnificent day to take pictures on Tantalus. All the variables were in line, the clouds were out to sea, the sky was a pretty blue, the water was it's spectacular aqua blue, the trade winds were gently blowing, what else can I say....lucky we live Hawaii. It was one of those picture perfect days, I enjoy the sites on these kind of days. I had not been at this location in quite a while, it's one of those p. laces where you only pass by when you are on the freeway and drive right pass the turn off. Today, I decided that it's time and here we are, I am so fortunate to have been there and I am just as impressed as the last time I was here, enjoy your day...I will.......aloha
