Hilton sunset/moonrise and fireworks

Add caption
What a wonderful evening for a sunset/moonrise shoot. There was also a fireworks display. We gathered at the Barefoot Bar while waiting for the proper time to shoot the sunset and get a decent space for the fireworks. There were several club members and lots of tourist out for the event. The moonrise was nice, nothing spectacular, but we still shot our share of pictures. Then came the fireworks display, even though it was short and sweet, we shot our share of this show also. All in all, it was a successful shot and as usual, the gathering of the club members
was a delight......aloha

Light Painting

This was a first for me. I had never tried to photograph light in this manner. It was something that I had heard of but again never tried. It turned out that a few club members agreed to shoot some kids at the Moiliili Library, they were very creative as to what poses they wanted to use as well as how to display the lights. We tried all kind of variations with christmas lights, flash lights with  different color plastic wraps on them and some other lights. It was really fun to be shooting as others produced the ideas. I really liked the concept and would like to some how expand upon the idea...great evening shoot.....aloha

the Final night of the Hula Oni E 2012

After a long weekend of hula dancing, it has come to an end. The musicians have put away their instruments, the last dance has been danced, now it's time for the long awaited awarding of the trophies. I would like to again convey my congratulations to the Hula Halau O Ka'uhionamauna ladies for sharing with us their dancing and chanting, it was spectacular. They managed to receive scores that entitled them to receive  two 2nd place trophies, in the Wahine Division for the Hula Kahiko and Hula Au'ana. What a night of music and dancing.....aloha

Hula Oni' E Hilton Tapa Tower

What a wonderful night of Hawaiian music and dance. The outfits were colorful and stunning as they always are. The dancers put their heart and soul into each and every dance. What a delight to sit in a nice venue and be able to see some of the finest dancing halau they take this seriously. Nicole's halau performed and I must say, they are one of the most together groups out there. The Kahiko again was done in a very colorful skirt and beautiful leis were in order for the night. They did not disappoint the crowd at all. I could watch them dance all night long. It was a long night but they also danced the Au'ana and were even more beautiful than ever. The fitted dresses were magnificent and they did their thing again, mesmerising and with grace. What a night.......aloha
