Classic Car Show at Aloha Tower

Attended a nice auto show at Aloha Tower, there were quite a few cars but I am sure that the rain changed a lot of car owners minds. I even had a change of heart, after attempting to get to Aloha Tower the first time it just didn't happen because of the downpour. I proceeded to the H-3 and made my way to look for waterfalls in Kaneohe. To my dismay, there were no waterfalls. I decided to return using the Pali Highway, always looking for good subject matter to photograph, at the bottom of Pali Highway there was no rain, so the next thing was to continue on to Aloha Tower after seeing that the parking lot was full. There were some nice oldies along with the lowrider clubs. I always enjoy these events and I really like some of the nice old rides....they are kind of like me, older but definitely a classic.......aloha.

Moon rise at Makapu'u

It was a good evening to shoot moon rise pictures, overcast with lots of clouds. The people that were with me made the night. There was a worry about rain but none was to be seen. The photos came out fairly decent as well, that was the main thing. I enjoy it when a plan comes together, then all you have to do is shoot the shots. What else is there......aloha

Koolina Lagoon 4

More great sunsets at Koolina Lagoon 4. The place keeps me coming back for more each time. I love everything about this place, there is all the you could ask for there. Sun, waves, clouds, and just plain ole beauty. I truly enjoy shooting from this lagoon. If you ever get the chance, I think you will love it too......aloha

KawaiiKon 2013

This years KawaiiKon was held at the Hawaii Convention Center, it is quite the place to have any kind of event. There were all types of characters in full costume, super heroes, anime characters, and everything else you can think of. There were lots of photographers and the characters were very obliging to all requests. It is a colorful and animated event to photograph, it was truly a pleasure to be a part of this. I don't know most of the characters but the individuals were prepared to explain who they were and what their claim to fame is, that was great. To share in their experience that they prepare for all year is really amazing, the work that put into it shows. There was the not so complicated look to the super realistic looking ones.
I was impressed and will be looking forward to this experience next year.......aloha

road trip to the North Shore

The ride from Kailua through the North Shore, Haleiwa, H-2, to the H-1, and back to Kailua via the H-3 was a very eventful ride. It was one of those days where all was aligned in nature and produced turtles, whales, monk seals,   sunshine, blue skies, nice beach water, that is a handful for one day. We even stopped at Fumi's for fresh shrimp cooked on the truck and eaten outside under the hugh tentlike structure, spicy garlic shrimp, absolutely delightful.
The Veater's are here from Utah and Washington, they are the niece and nephew of Mary Monohan, really long time friends, also Nicole's godmother. It has been a while since we saw them. Mary has gotten all grown up and even got married to Matt, he is a nice guy. Stephen, Mary's older brother is from washington state, we had a pleasant ride around the island. Their last day is day after tomorrow so they got to experience the North Shore with me, the photo opportunity the day present was perfect. I sometimes travel to this way checking for big waves, since there were small ones but all the other things made up for them. Well, it was a great ride and a great day. Hope to experience this kind of day again, soon........aloha
